Lorain County Manufacturing Sector Partnership Receives Ohio Accelerant Grant

Elyria, OH – The Lorain County Manufacturing Sector Partnership announced that they are 1 of 13 recipients of the
Ohio Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation’s Industry Sector Partnership Grants.

The ISP Grants total $2.58 million and focus on multiple in-demand industry sectors. In LCMSP’s case, the support fuels collaboration between manufacturing businesses, education and training providers, and other community leaders who are invested in improving their region’s workforce and filling critical jobs. In addition, these collaborations create a more skilled workforce which benefits both Ohioans and Ohio's job creators.

“We are so pleased to be an awardee. We appreciate the support and vision of Lt. Governor Husted and the Ohio Department of Development Director, Lydia Mihalik. We know these funds will invigorate the work being done by the partnership and will expand both our reach and impact in the Lorain County area,” said Michael Fitzpatrick, LCMSP Executive Director.

"Industry Sector Partnerships work because we connect educators and businesses in a common mission of helping students and adults earn the skills they need to secure a meaningful career," Lt. Gov. Husted said in a press release regarding the grants. "We can't leave this important connection to chance. The role state government can play is to help fund and build these local partnerships so educators know what to teach, businesses have access to home-grown talent, and Ohioans earn higher wages and have more job security."

“This ISP grant provides the Lorain County Manufacturing Sector Partnership the opportunity to engage more manufacturers in our region, expand our outreach efforts to underserved populations, and recruit and develop the talent needed to remain competitive in this evolving digital economy.  We will strengthen our efforts with Lorain County Community College, Lorain County JVS, Ohio Means Jobs Lorain County, and community organizations to grow the future skilled workforce and strengthen the regional economy.” —Michael Rose, Vice President of Manufacturing, A.J. Rose Manufacturing Co.
